PFEIL HARDWARE AND PAINT, locally owned and operated, is located in downtown Troy, New York’s historic business district. It proudly serves the hardware, paint, houseware and gift needs of Troy area residents, businesses, institutions, contractors and students.
An authorized Benjamin Moore Retailer, PFEIL HARDWARE & PAINT sells Aura, Natura and Ben, their new Gennex line of environmentally friendly paints, as well as many of their other traditional lines, including the newly formulated Regal Select. In addition, you’ll find a broad selection of Do It Best Paints, which are produced by one of the major paint manufacturers.
Come and visit PFEIL HARDWARE AND PAINT. It’s a serious hardware store, with great service in a beautiful historic space. If you can’t find what you need amongst the 12,000+ items stocked on our shelves, we will likely find it for you in our Do It Best Warehouse, which carries more than 70,000 items.

Convenient composting! To help you enrich your soil and recyle in one of the best ways, we’ve re-stocked our supply of countertop composters along with the filters and compost keeper bags to fit.
We have four different models ranging in price from $24.99 for the ceramic pail to $49.99 for one of the stainless steel designs, with two in between.
Note that we brought a very handsome stainless steel composter for $39.99 that has a slimmer profile – oblong rather than round (it’s the one on the far left of the photo). And, we carry an environmentally friendly, ultimately bio-degradable bamboo version for $25.99.
And don’t forget that you don’t have to have your own composter in the back yard. You can take your countertop-collected compost to the Composting Collection booth at the Troy Farmer’s Market!
We’re so fortunate in Troy to have one of the very best Farmers’ Markets around. What an opportunity to buy fresh, locally grown produce and fruit and preserve them for less bountiful months, when a dish of semi-frozen strawberries and blueberries would taste sublime (with a little whipped cream, perhaps). Whether you are a canner or freezer or both, we’ve got the supplies you will need. Stock up now! And, if we don’t have something, please ask for it. Usually we can get things pretty quickly from our warehouse.
Happy Canning! And don’t forget that you can take your counter top compost to the compost booth at the Farmer’s Market!
Steve, our manager, just finished resetting the entire light bulb department. We worked with the GE Lighting folks to determine current customer needs for light bulbs and found some niches to fill. We ended up expanding our light bulb assortment to a whopping 325 different styles!

The selection includes electrodes, tips, strikers, flints, helmets, mig wire chipping hammers, gloves & more. If the demand is there for an even broader array of welding products, we will continue to expand this new section. Please let us know what you think!
